While preparations for the third edition of ‘SKIDS – The Snow Festival’ from 4 to 6 April 2025 are already in full swing, the experience prizes for the 2024 edition are currently being redeemed.
SK Hallein was delighted to take a look behind the scenes at the World Cup race in Alta Badia, where they were able to get a taste of World Cup action for a day. The young athletes from Austria not only watched the slalom race in the World Cup live, but were also able to observe the athletes preparing up close. Read here how the young racers experienced the exclusive day:
Claudia: “It was just great. We were allowed to enter into the hut where the athletes were preparing for the race and they really took a lot of time for us, signed autographs and were very friendly. It was really cool, and the glimpse behind the scenes of a World Cup race was a very personal highlight for me.”
Stefan: “What a cool day it was! The coolest thing was that we got to sit on the red chair in the finish area like the winners and collect sooo many signatures. The slope was so icy that we probably wouldn’t have made it down. Thank you for letting us be there”
Lilly: “I’ve just got home from Alta Badia. It was a highlight! We were able to be there live everywhere and were able to collect lots of signatures – it was just so cool! A huge thank you for this great experience prize.”
Vinzent: “Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me come along. We saw the World Cup athletes and were allowed to go into areas that were so cool. I’ll never forget that. I just loved everything – most of all that we were allowed to go to the hospitality area, get very close to the athletes and experienced the race live. Everything was just super cool!”
The kids were thrilled by this behind the scenes tour. Not only did they receive accreditation passes, but they also got a real look behind the scenes of a World Cup race. We were able to look into many areas that you don’t see as a ‘normal’ spectator. The kids felt very important and were happy about every step. The ski racers were very friendly and signed lots of autographs. Everything was super organised and everyone is looking forward to being back at the start of the next SKIDS race.’
